Amy Schadt is an established dancer, choreographer, and educator with deep roots in classical jazz lineage and contemporary performance. She trained, performed, and worked extensively with Hama and the late Claude Thompson, serving as both assistant and featured dancer with Jazz Dance LA. Amy was the lead dancer in LA Journey, a collaborative ballet directed by Claude Thompson, and in 2025 she created Claude Thompson, The Dancers Perspective, honoring his legacy.

Amy has choreographed for commercials, music videos, Jazz Dance LA, and a wide range of dance productions throughout Los Angeles. From 2006–2011, she owned and operated her own dance program, emphasizing strong technical foundations in ballet, jazz, and tap.

As an educator, Amy teaches at The Colburn School and Hama Dance Center, where she carries forward the Luigi–Hama jazz technique with precision, musicality, and respect for its lineage. She also teaches and leads master classes in Hama–Luigi Technique, preserving the integrity of the form while making it accessible to the next generation of dancers. She is Artistic Director of Hama Dance Center.

Amy holds a BA in Performing Arts from Saint Mary’s College of California and is represented commercially by Bloc. Her work blends disciplined technique, artistic expression, and embodied storytelling, bridging legacy jazz with modern performance and education.
